The following has been released by the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office:
Please join us in congratulating Kemorion for successfully passing his GED testing last week! He is the very first Jail Resident to earn his GED through our new partnership with Athens Technical College.
This remarkable achievement represents more than just a diploma—it symbolizes hope, hard work, and a commitment to personal growth. GED testing is just one of over 20 free educational programs now available to residents inside the Athens-Clarke County Jail, all made possible through the vision and leadership of Sheriff John Q. Williams.
At the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, we believe in creating meaningful opportunities for rehabilitation, education, and re-entry success. This is only the beginning!
