Man drowns at Barrow County park

A South Carolina man drowned Saturday in the lake at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources identified the victim as Gerardo Morales Gonzalez, 21, of North Charleston, SC.

Cccordiung to the DNR, game wardens were called to the scene of a possible drowning in the park about 2 p.m.

The body of Gonzalez was located with a sonar device just after 5 p.m., in about six feet of water just inside the swimming area of the lake, the DNR said.
