Man’s bad behavior at Georgia Theatre too much even for “raucous concert venue”

By Joe Johnson

A man was arrested at Georgia Theatre last week after putting on a show of his own that received critical reviews.

According to a police report, Robert Lee Hunter was kicked out by management Thursday night for “uttering fighting words and carrying on in a drunkenly loud, boisterous and unbecoming manner even by the standards of a raucous concert venue.”

The report was written by Officer Christopher Tucker who had been dispatched to the Georgia Theatre to assist with the arrest of a disorderly person.

Upon arrival, he found that another officer had Hunter pinned against the concert hall’s door while attempting to place the man in handcuffs.

Hunter was fiercely resisting arrest and yelled about being a veteran among other things during his “vitriolic ranting ,” reported Tucker, who helped take him to the ground.

The 37-year-old Loganville man was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

He was released from custody upon posting bail 12 hours after being taken to the county jail.
