Sarina Avery McElreath, 28, of Jennings Mill Parkway, was arrested early in the morning of July 16th after she crashed her car while allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police said they were summoned to the scene on Mathew Avenue at around 3 a.m. when the incident activated the crash detection feature of McElreath’s iPhone which automatically dialed 911.
According to police, the woman’s SUV overturned upon striking a parked vehicle.
The accident report did not note any injuries to McElreath, but it did describe her displaying such signs of intoxication as slurred speech, an odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath and unsteadiness.
She agreed to undergo sobriety tests but instead of participating in them she held out her hands for an officer to cuff them.
McElreath was arrested on charges of DUI and failure to maintain lane,
