Major police investigation at QT on Lexington Road in Athens

The QuikTrip at Lexington and Gaines School roads in Athens remains closed early Sunday morning, hours after police reportedly shot and possibly killed someone.

The county coroner confirmed that a police shooting victim had been taken to the hospital, but he did not know details,

Information has not been available from the police department,

However, sources tell Classic City News that officers apparently fatally shot someone at the gas station/convenience store,

That person is said by sources to have been a male who was threatening people with a weapon that looked like an AR assault rifle.
