An alleged drug dealer was arrested early the morning of July 10th when police raided his home on West Carver Drive and seized fentanyl, cocaine, oxycodone and methamphetamine.

Franklin Leon Wise, 64, was charged with one count of possessing each type of drug with the intent to distribute, and also tampering with evidence.

An incident report notes that the operation was conducted by officers from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department Gang Unit and Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force.

Details of the raid were not included in the report.

According to arrest warrants on file in Superior Court, police had seized one gram of fentanyl, over 24 grams of cocaine, about 21 grams of methamphetamine, and oxycodone.

The tampering charge is for an attempt by Wise to flush drugs down a toilet.

Wise is a career criminal who has many felony cases on file in Superior Court, and is listed by the Georgia Department of Corrections as having served prison sentences for drug, firearms and fraud convictions.

He is being held without bail in prettial detention at the county jail.
