Athens-Clarke police seize pounds of marijuana, hundreds of pills, guns, and more


Hundreds of amphetamine pills, pounds of marijuana, guns, and more were seized this month during a drug bust near Athens.

Authorities this month conducted a raid in a neighborhood that's in the westernmost fringes of Athens-Clarke County where they reportedly made one arrest and seized a trove of illegal drugs.

The operation went down on Jan.4 at a residence on Aubrey Drive, located just south of Atlanta Highway and east of Cleveland Road.

Taking part in the raid were members of the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Located during the execution of a search warrant were 250amphetamine pills, hallucinogenic psilocybin mushrooms, THC oils and edibles, multiple pounds of marijuana, six handguns and one rifle.

An occupant identified as Jamie Favors was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute amphetamine, multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I prescription drugs, and six counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.

During the search, officers seized 250 amphetamine pills, hallucinogenic psilocybin mushrooms, THC oils and edibles, multiple pounds of marijuana, six guns and one rifle.

Jamie Favors of Bogart was charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I amphetamine, multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs, and six counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.
