Science fact of the day: Spitting cobras can spray venom over 6 feet

Spitting Cobras can spray the venom from their fangs up to 6.5 ft. They will often do so in self-defense if they are cornered.

Species that can “spit” or spray their venom include the Red Spitting Cobra, the Mozambique Spitting Cobra, and the Black-Necked Spitting Cobra. Spitting Cobras can also deliver venom through a bite, just like other cobra species.
