Dontavious Qyedrekus Aikens, 23, of University Oaks apartments, was arrested on the afternoon of February 10th after he snatched a phone from someone’s hands at the Athens Transit bus terminal on Willow Street.
He reportedly said, “Thank you, bitch,” and then ran onto one of the buses with the $350 Motorola device.
The 24-year-old victim followed Aikens onto the bus and was able to wrestle away his phone.
A transit worker flagged down a police officer about the men fighting when the bus stopped on East Broad Street, at which time Aikens was arrested for robbery.
He continued to be detained without bail as of Tuesday morning.
