A suspected gang member was arrested early Saturday in connection with a drive-by shooting that killed a 3-year-old boy hours earlier at an eastside Athens trailer park.

One of the gangs reportedly bragged about the shooting on social media.

Julian Omar Cubillos was booked into jail at 3:30 a.m. for malice murder, criminal gang activity and multiple counts of aggravated assault in connection to the death of Kyron Zarco at Hallmark Estates off of Spring Valley Road.

When fatally shot at about 5:30 p.m. Friday,

the child was watching TV with his 9-year-old brother who also was shot, as was an adult male who is suspected of belonging to an Athens street gang.

Evidence at the crime scene suggests that several different guns were used to shoot at the victim's home.

The incident is said by law enforcement to have arisen from a rivalry between the EBE and RTG street gangs.

The adult victim of the drive-by was identified as a member of RTG, which stands for Red Tape Gang.

Cubillos is suspected of being affiliated with EBE, or Every Body Eats.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department on Saturday was looking to round up additional suspects.

ACCPD has asked for anyone with information related to the shooting to contact Sergeant Black at 762-400-7058, or scott.black@accgov.com.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 reward for information that leads to arrests.
