An Athens store clerk was recently assaulted by a
customer in a confrontation over a disposable vape pen.
The incident occurred early in the morning of August 10th at Fast Track on Prince Avenue when a customer tried to buy the vape pen but none of the debit cards he swiped worked.
He then took the vape from the checkout counter and walked off with it.
When the 34-year-old clerk went outside to get the merchandise back he was punched in the face by the thief and fell to the ground.
The clerk was bleeding from his nose when police got to the scene.
The store’s surveillance camera was not working at the time.
