UGA student killed by vehicle while walking on Athens Perimeter

A University of Georgia student reportedly was killed early Sunday when struck by a vehicle as he walked on the Athens Perimeter.

Information from police was not immediately available, but Athens-Clarke County Coroner Sonny Wilson identified the victim as 21-year-old Knox Whiten of Toccoa who attended UGA.

Wilson said the incident occurred on the Perimeter near North Chase Street.
