UPDATE: Two men shot at Athens apartment complex

Two men were shot Monday afternoon at a westside Athens apartment complex.

Both men were aparently were shot by a single person during an an incident at The Flats @235 apartments on Sycamore Drive, according to Athens-Clarke County police Capt. Christopher Nichols.

The victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

"We do not believe the shooting was a random event and we are working to identify the shooter," said Nichols, who is commanding officer of the Criminal Investigations Division.
