A 41-year-old man reported to police that he was assaulted and robbed by two armed thieves Friday night at the Amoco gas station and convenience store on North Avenue.
The East Carver Drive resident said he was walking to the store from his car in the back parking lot at about 10:30 p.m. when he was struck from behind and robbed of $80 by two males.
Both robbers reportedly were armed, one with a handgun and the other with an ax.
The victim told the police that his assailants were dressed in all in black and wore ski masks.
An ax? Wow! A hatchet would be easier to conceal and perhaps easier to assault someone; one hand swing vs a two-handed swing. Of course a baseball bat(two hands) often is a used as an assault weapon as well.
Steal, kill and destroy. That is what they are here for. Avoid them.
