Woman indicted for killing brother’s cat

An Athens woman has been indicted for killing her brother’s cat last year.

The incident happened in September 2025 when 33-year-old Nay Nay Win killed the cat by dropping a 25-pound weight on its head during an argument with her brother at their home on Lavender Lakes Drive.

She admitted to killing the animal and told police that her nephew buried it and the weight n a garden at Jubilee Christian Services in Madison County.

Freed on a $2,500 bond, Win was charged with first-degree cruelty to animals, according to the indictment filed Tuesday in Superior Court

Her arraignment was scheduled for September 15th.
