An Athens woman was arrested earlier this month on animal cruelty charges for keeping dogs in extreme squalor that caused one of them to die.
Talia Favors, 39, of Spring Court, was charged on June 2nd with three counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
The charges stem from when, on April 28th, police accompanied animal control officers on an inspection of Favors’ property to investigate a complaint that dogs were being neglected.,
They found severely malnourished pitbull terriers named Hennessy and Snow that were kept in small crates without adequate foot and water. They also found the carcass of a puppy named Boy Toy,
Warrants charging Favors with three counts of aggravated cruelty to animals were subsequently issued, and she was arrested the night of June 2nd when police found her at an Eastwood Court residence.
Favors also has a family violence case pending in State Court that involves a charge of simple battery against her son.
