Alleged drunk driver charged with homicide for crash that killed 3 in Madison County

A Danielsville man has been arrested on a homicide charge in connection with a DUI crash that killed three people in Madison County Tuesday night.

Moo Thaw, 22, of Danielsville, was charged with DUI, first-degree homicide by vehicle, and failure to yield, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The victims were identified by the GSP as Thai Htoo, 19, of Comer, Saw Ah, 19, of Danielsville, and Gler Taw, 25,of Comer.

According to the patrol, troopers responded at 7:11 p.m. to Georgia 172 and Madico Drive in Comer in reference to a vehicle crash.

The investigation determined that Thaw had been driving on Madico Drive when he made a turn his car onto 172 and into the path of a pickup truck that crashed into the car’s driver's side, killing the victims, who were all passengers in the back seat.

Thaw was transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries, and upon release will be booked into the Madison Jail.
