A 34-year-old man reportedly was robbed by a pair of masked gunmen on the afternoon of August 29th at University Oaks apartments off West Broad Street.
A police officer reported that he was in the complex for an unrelated matter when the victim ran up to his patrol car and breathlessly told about having just been robbed inside one of the buildings.
The man from Sautee-Nacoochee in White County explained that he had come to see a woman named Onahee who he had met online.
He “stated that he was not meeting her for sexual favors, and that they had made plans to go to Topgolf and do other activities together,” according to the officer’s report.
Following instruction that Onahee had given him, the man said he went to the 500 building where one of the suspects followed him inside, pulling a ski mask over his head and brandishing a gun.
The suspect then pushed the victim into an apartment where another masked gunman waited, at which time both suspects went through his pockets and stole took his $300 and a bottle of pain medicine.
Detectives with the robbery/homicide and gang units arrived at the scene to take over the investigation.
