Arrest made for armed robbery of Athens convenience store

A 46-year-old man was arrest Thursday for allegedly robbing at gunpoint a clerk at gunpoint last month at the Circle K convenience store on South Lumpkin Street.

Detectives, with the assistance of patrol officers from the Athens-Clarke County and University of Georgia police departments, identified the suspect as 46-year-old Stephen Thomas Howard Jr, who was arrested on warrants charging with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
