A homeless man was arrested Sunday for reportedly stabbing another man in the neck during an argument the day before.

According to Athens-Clarke police, 51-year-old Reuben Robert Bob stabbed the victim during a dispute Saturday at a homeless camp on North Oconee Park off Willow Street, near the North Oconee River and across from the Bigger Vision homeless shelter on North Avenue.

According to Lt Shaun Barnet, ACCPD's public information officer, Bob and a man the suspect knew got into an argument that escalated into a physical altercation.

" During the course of the altercation, the victim was stabbed in the neck," Barnett said, and the victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.

Bob was gone when police arrived at the scene, but he was located and arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with aggravated assault.

As of Monday afternoon, he was being detained at the county jail in lieu of a $5,000 surety bond.
