Athens man accused of sextortion

A man from Barrow County has alleged that he was being extorted by a man who lives at the Athens Gardens apartment complex.

According to police, the allegation concerned the threat of posting online intimate photos that were from when the men had been romantically involved.

The 41-yearr-old man from Winder told police that he had already paid the alleged extortionist $300 and that he was being asked to pay even more to keep the photos off of the Internet.
