An Athens man was recently indicted on charges he sexually assaulted a girl under 10 years old.

Mishel Brent Chamblee, 29, of Noketchee Creek Road was charged with two counts of aggravated child molestation and one count of aggravated sodomy, according to a grand jury indictment filed Sept. 3 in Clarke County Superior Court.

In the redacted public version of the indictment, Chamblee allegedly committed “immoral and indecent acts” on the child sometime between July and October 2018.

He was arrested on warrants on Oct. 1, 2018 and was released from the Clarke County Jail four months later, upon posting a $22,000 property bond.

Chamblee is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 28.
