An Athens man was arrested on Tuesday for vehicular homicide in connection with a collision last month that killed a Jackson County resident.
John Fitzhugh Orchard, 30, of Kensington Drive, was arrested on warrants charging him with first-degree homicide by vehicle and DUI.
The incident happened on the evening of December 17, when Orchard was driving a Toyota MR2 on Macon Highway and struck a Jeep Gladiator that was exiting a driveway. A passenger in the Toyota, 56-year-old Edward Nadeau of Commerce, was fatally injured.
