Athens man concerned about child-molester roommate’s interest in little girls

An Athens man recently filed a police report that documents some troubling behavior by his roommate who is a convicted child molester.

He told police that the roommate had been making sexual gestures and comments about children in their eastside neighborhood.

Among other things, the man had caught the roommate touching himself while watching children outside playing.

He also heard his roommate “talking to himself about how the little girls were looking at him weird and that they wanted him.”

The officer who took the report verified that the roommate was on the state’s sex offender registry due to a child molestation conviction and referred the matter to Special Victims Unit investigators.
