A Clarke County grand jury recently indicted an Athens man for allegedly forcibly raping a teenage victim at his home three months ago.
Zachary Lee Underwood, 20, is accused of raping the 19-year-old woman early the morning of July 9 at his home on Midlands Place in a neighborhood off Whit Davis Road, according to Athens-Clarke County police.
Police arrested Underwood on a warrant six days after the alleged assault, according to Clarke County Superior Court records.
Underwood was released from jail on Aug. 1, upon posting a $27,700 good security bond and the indictment was filed on Oct. 1, according to court records.
Underwood is scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 12.
