A 22-year-old Athens man was killed early Sunday in a one-car wreck on the Athens Perimeter, Athens-Clarke County police said.

Jonathan Busave of Oak Grove Drive was driving a Ford Mustang east on the highway’s inner loop near North Chase Street at about 1:50 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the right side of the roadway, struck two culverts and rolled over at least twice, according to police.

Busave was partially ejected from the driver’s side window, police said.

Athens-Clarke fire-rescue and National EMS personnel provided emergency care for the young man, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.

His passenger, a 33-year-old Kathwood Drive man was transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries, police said.
