An Athens man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stabbing another man during an argument about a bicycle, Athens-Clarke County police said.

Officers were dispatched shortly before 4 p.m. to the area of 397 Jockey Club Drive regarding a fight, police said, and when officers arrived and spoke to witnesses “they determined that an argument over a bicycle escalated and the victim was stabbed.”

The victim, 39-year-old Robert Hall of Athens, was treated at the scene for non-life- threatening injuries, according to police.

The suspect, Javier Rashon Crump, 39, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Police said that Crump also was from Athens, but he was booked into the Clarke County Jail with a Jackson County address.
