Athens police release information about downtown shooting that injured three

At 1:33 p.m. today the Athens-Clarks County Police Department released the following information about an incident that happened over 30 hours earlier:
On September 28, 2025, at 3:52 AM, ACCPD responded to a report of a fight in the 100
block of East Clayton Street. Officers dispersed the group, members of which headed west on East Clayton Street. Near Lumpkin Street, the group reassembled and soon after,officers heard multiple gunshots.
ACCPD located three teens with apparent gunshot wounds. EMS arrived and transported the teens to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives are actively investigating this incident. If anyone has information about the
shooting, please contact Detective Harrison at 762-400-7361 or
Individuals wishing to remain anonymous can contact the Police Department tip line at
706-705-4775. A reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $1,000 is being off
