An Athens teen was arrested early Friday in connection with what police said was a gang related shooting that injured a man in the Nellie B Homes community three months ago.

Jacobie Isiah Daniel, 19, of North Bluff Road was charged with three counts each of aggravated assault and violation of the Street Gang Terrorism Prevention Act, and one count of theft by receiving stolen property.

According to police, the incident for which Daniel was arrested occurred early the morning of Dec. 29 on East Carver Drive in Nellie B. Homes, when 20-year-old Lamarkus Craig was shot in the arm by a bullet that lodged in his back.

A police report indicates that after hearing gunshots a witness saw a black male with gold-tipped dreadlocks get into a gray Honda sedan and drive away. The witness provided to police a partial tag number for the car.

Some of the incident was recorded by a neighbor's Ring camera, and investigators recovered spent shell casings from the scene, according to the report.

Police did not say how they connected Daniel to the incident, nor did they explain why it was gang related.
