Authorities investigating death of man found in westside parking lot

A man was found dead early Wednesday morning inside a vehicle in a parking lot off Hawthorne Avenue.

He was in the back of an SUV, according to Athens-Clarke County Coroner Michael Eberhart, who said that man hadn’t been identified as of Wednesday afternoon.

An autopsy is to be conducted at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s crime laboratory, and the circumstances of the man’s death is being investigated by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
