A Barrow County woman was recently charged with murder in connection with the death of a toddler for whom she was caring.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, agents on Friday arrested 24-year-old Statham resident Sugey Castro-Solis on one count of felony murder for the 23-month-old child's death in Arcade.
The GBI said that on Jan. 11, 2021, Arcade police responded to a 911 call in reference to an unresponsive child and asked the GBI for assistance in the investigation. The child was transported to the hospital and later died. Castro-Solis was the caretaker of the child at the time 911 was called.
Authorities have not released the cause of death.
However, the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the case can contact the Arcade Police Department at 706-367-1821 or the GBI at 706-552-2309.
