Body found in North Oconee River

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department, with the assistance of Athens-Clarke County Fire and Emergency Services, on Friday recovered a badly decomposed body from the Middle Oconee River near Macon Highway. There were no obvious signs of foul play and the identity of the person has not been confirmed. The investigation is ongoing.
