The trial of Jose Antonio Ibarra, charged with the murder of Laken Riley, is coming to a close.

Prosececuting and defense attorneys are now making their closing arguments to Superior Court Judge H. Patrick Haggard, who presided over the four-day bench trial.

Ibarra is charged in a 10-count indictment with murdering the 22-year-old nursing student on February 22 during an attempted rape on a University of Georgia running trail.

The prosecution had filed notice of intent to seek a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
