Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was found dead in his home on Saxon Woods Drive late Saturday afternoon.
The lifeless body of 52-year-old Dallas Edmond McAnally was discovered by his landlord who went into his room looking for help moving in a new tenant. The landlord immediately called 911.
Police said the that McAnally was face down on his bed and in a pool of blood, with dried blood on the floor next to a footprint.
A woman who rents a room across the hall told police she had heard a loud thud Thursday night.
The man’s boss told police that when McAnally failed to show up for work last Tuesday morning he explained in a phone call he had “tripped on the stairs and woke up in a pool of blood.”
The man reportedly worked on Wednesday but again failed to show up on Thursday.
County Coroner Michael Eberhart said there wasn’t anything suspicious about McAnally’s death and that he ordered an autopsy to be conducted at the state medical examiner’s office.
