A Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized on Friday after being attacked by a dog.
Sheriff Kevin McCook said the deputy was attacked while serving civil papers.
The deputy was bitten in the arm and face after the dog lunged from behind the door when the homeowner opened it.
Animal control officials responded to the scene, as did paramedics who treated deputy and transported him in the hospital.
The injuries were non-life threatening, according to McCook, who said the deputy remained hospitalized.
The dog owners have reportedly been cooperative with law enforcement.

That’s terrifying—hoping the deputy makes a full recovery soon. Incidents like this remind us how vital proper safety and secure environments are. Just like solid window installation Hamilton services protect homes, ensuring safety protocols for officers is equally important. Speedy healing to all involved in the incident.
