Detectives seek help identifying homicide victim

The following has been released by the Gwinnett County Police Department

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Mar. 02, 2026) – Gwinnett County Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a homicide victim located in 1981.

On August 11, 1981, a female was found deceased on McDaniel Road near Highway 120. Her death was ruled a homicide. To this day, the person responsible for the victim’s death has not been identified.

The victim is described as a Black female between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing between 150 and 160 pounds. The female had an afro hairstyle.

At the time she was located, the victim was wearing a brown and or purple short sleeve dress, a 15-inch gold necklace, a gold ring with stones, and a silver bracelet with “Monet” engraved on the back.

More than four decades later, this victim still does not have her name back, and the person responsible has not been held accountable. Detectives are seeking any information that could help identify the victim and lead to the individual responsible for her death.
