Disgruntled former employee arrested with arsenal that included explosive device in his vehicle

By Joe Johnson

A man who had been fired from his job at a Jackson County auto dealership was arrested after he returned and pulled a gun when demanding to be reinstated.

When investigators searched his vehicle on Monday they reportedly discovered a virtual arsenal which included an assault rifle and handgun that were both fitted with homemade silencers, in addition to an explosive device that also was homemade.

Knives, tactical gear, masks and handcuffs were also found in the vehicle. The suspect had been employed by Auto Gallery Dodge dealership on Homer Road In Commerce.

The investigation was conducted by the Commerce Police Department, which as of Wednesday had not release the suspect’s identity.

However, the Jackson County Jail website indicates that on the same day he was arrested, 36-year-old Dustin Humphries of Maryville was booked in on multiple felony charges that included possession of an explosive device.

Maryville is an unincorporated community in Hall County.

Thank fully he did not hurt anyone.

I'm sure he will find some like-minded friends in prison.
