A 34-year-old woman was out with friends when she received a call from her daughter asking her to come home because her father was drunk and breaking things in their Rear Arch Street residence.
When the woman arrived home, Rodney Edwards charged from the house at her and took a swing.
She defended herself with pepper spray and Edwards retreated back to the house to clean the spray off his face.
The woman called 911 and the officers that responded observed broken door glass and saw that Edwards had injuries consistent with punching through a window,
They arrested and charged him under the Georgia Family Violence Act with simple assault and criminal trespass/damage to property.
