Fire damages Athens apartment complex

Firefighters on Friday afternoon responded to a fire at the Serene at Northside apartment complex on Old Hull Road.

“The main fire damage was in the first and second floor units on the west side of the B building,” said Adam Gardner, spokesman for the Athens-Clarke County Fire and Emergency Services Department.

“No word yet on the cause/origin of the fire, and there were no victims or fatalities,” Gardner said.
