Several people were arrested last week after fighting broke out at an Oconee County outdoor shopping mall.
The incident happened in the evening of December 12th at Wire Park in Watkinsville, where adults reportedly involved themselves in what had been children picking on a mentally disabled boy.
Arguments reportedly escalated to physical altercations and when sheriff’s deputies intervened some of the adults got physical with them.
A sheriff’s office report noted that some of the adults had been drinking and that they had carried on in front of a group of children who stood there to watch.
The people who were arrested for disorderly conduct were identified by the sheriff’s office as Courtney Mapp, 50; Samantha Rhodes, 33; Austin Shackelford, 37; and Charles Tankersley 43.
Rhodes was additionally charged with battery for punching Tankersley in the face, according to the sheriff’s report.
