Residents of Oconee County on Friday gathered to honor the life of Lt. Scott Underwood of the
Sheriff's Office, who tragically died in a lawn mower accident at his home on May 19.
Underwood served the Oconee County community for over two decades, with his last assignment being a patrol shift commander.
He leaves behind his wife and two teenage sons .
Following a funeral service Friday at Prince Avenue Baptist Church off U.S. Highway 78 in Bogart, there was a motorcade procession from the church to Highway 78, then to Georgia 316, and the Oconee Connector, before it headed south on Mars Hill Road to Butler’s Crossing in Watkinsville, where it moved to U.S. Highway 441 and south to Farmington where Underwood lived.
