Gangster charged with intimidating Athens murder witness

Jockeyvise Zimare Banks, 19, of Hickman Drive, has been charged with allegedly intimidating a witness in an Athens murder case.

According to his arrest warrant. Banks intimidated a witness in the case of 22-year-old Antonio Jewell, who fell to his death last year at The View at NoDa apartment complex.

He reportedly fell from an upper floor balcony while fleeing from members of the Sex, Murder, Money street gang who had pistol whipped and robbed him and another victim in an apartment.

Police arrested six members of the SSM gang, who were later charged in a 19-count indictment with multiple counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, criminal attempt to commit armed robbery, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and criminal street gang activity.

The arrests were made on the strength of evidence that included video from doorbell cameras from apartments near where Jewell was killed.

A woman who allowed investigators to see her camera footage was later intimidated by gang members who were recorded by that same camera.

In the videos, multiple males, some wearing masks, at different times pointed guns at the camera and made gang hand signs, and police said they identified Banks as one them.
