A grand jury convened in Clarke Superior Court has returned an indictment charging several members of an Athens street gang.

The defendants are accused of belonging to the 1831 Piru Bloods.

They are identified as Antoine Devonte Franklin, Anthony Jamal Holder, Kasten Jammal Thomas, Keion Raymond Dunn, and Javarus Lavon Clark.

The indictment charges them with various crimes that include possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and unlawful criminal gang activity.

They were arrested on February 28 during a raid at the Serene at Northside apartment complex on Old Hull Road.

The operation capped an investigation by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department’s Gang Unit, and it resulted in the seizure of cocaine,

The defendants are held without bail in pretrial detention and are scheduled to be arraigned on May 13.
