Gun control rally to be rescheduled due to bad weather forecast

The organizers of a planned rally Saturday in Monroe are rescheduling the event due to a combination of factors. The rally titled Kids Lives Matter was planned as a recognition of the tragic events at Apalachee High School and as a call for action to stop such violence.

The remnants of Hurricane Francine which battered Louisiana is forecast to bring heavy rains Saturday morning with the possibility of thunderstorms.

The organizers also noted that the funerals of two of the victims will be held Saturday.  The rally is being rescheduled out of respect for the families and the trauma they are suffering.

A specific time and place will be announced shortly. For more information, contact Michael Castengera at 706-410-7765 or Barbara Burt at 207-318-6287.
