A convicted felon and alleged drug dealer was arrested Wednesday when he was found trespassing at Rolling Ridge Apartments, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.
The report notes that an officer was on patrol at the complex located off Kathwood Drive at about 12:40 a.m. when he saw a parked car occupied by 22-year-old Dondre Jeremiyah Mize, who the officer knew had active felony warrants and had been previously barred from Rolling Ridge, according to the report.
After confirming the warrants and barring notice, the officer arrested and subsequently searched Mize and found a pill bottle containing heroin, the report notes.
When searching the suspect’s car police located about 12 grams of marijuana, 31 hydrocodone pills, two meloxicam pills, a bottle of aspirin, a 9mm semiautomatic pistol, a knife, cellphones, and a bottle of unidentified pills.
The Waddell Street resident was booked into the county jail on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute Schedule I and II controlled substances, criminal trespass and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the police report.
The county jail’s website indicated that two of Mize’s outstanding warrants were for entering an automobile with the intent to commit theft, and the third was for a probation violation stemming from convictions for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
As of Friday afternoon, Mize was being detained without bail being set for the probation violation and marijuana charge, according to the jail’s website.
