Alleged trafficker arrested after allegedly selling drugs from car in east Athen

An Athens man on Monday afternoon was arrested on drug trafficking and firearms charges after he allegedly was selling drugs from a car on an east Athens street, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.

Officers responded shortly before 6 p.m. on a report that 27-year-old Nicholas Treyvez Jackson was dealing drugs out of a car that was parked in the 300 block of Arch Street, according to the repot.

After officers approached the vehicle, a drug investigation ensued.

Police did not release details of the investigation.

Jackson, a resident of Hallmark Estates off Spring Valley Road was arrested and charged with trafficking unidentified illegal drugs, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies, according to the police report

As of Thursday afternoon, Jackson was being held at the Clarke County Jail without bail being set.
