A man was injured by gunfire Tuesday evening when bullets tore through his home in northwest Athens neighborhood, Athens-Clarke County police said.
At about 6 p.m., a duplex in the 400 block of Rustwood Drive was raked on both sides with gunfire and a 24-year-old male occupant in one of the homes was struck by a bullet that entered through the front of the residence, according to police.
The gunshot wound was not life-threatening, according to police, who said the victim was transported to a local hospital.
A woman in the apartment next door was uninjured, according to police.
Multiple bullet holes were found in both sides of the duplex and several shell casings were recovered outside, police said.
