A metro-Atlanta grand jury this week indicted two people on murder charges for the November death of Clarke Central High School graduate Alexis Janae Crawford.
Jordyn Jones, 21, who was Crawford’s roommate, and Jones’ boyfriend, 21-year-old Barron Brantley were indicted Friday on two counts of felony murder and one count each of malice murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and concealing the death of another, authorities said. Brantley also was indicted on one count of aggravated sodomy for allegedly sexually assaulting Crawford five days before her murder, a spokesman for the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office said on Friday
Crawford, a 21-year-old senior at Clark Atlanta University went missing from her off-campus apartment on Oct. 29.
Her body was found Nov. 8 in DeKalb County’s Exchange Park.
The cause of death was asphyxiation, authorities said.
Police said Crawford was strangled and smothered with a plastic bag before Jones and Brantley took her body from the apartment she shared with Jones and left it in the park.
