Get ready to jingle all the way at the first-ever Santa Hustle Athens! Area residents of all ages and fitness levels are warmly invited to lace up for the Kids Dash, 5K, 10K or Half Marathon Sunday, December 8, starting and finishing at The Classic Center, 300 N. Thomas Street, Athens.
All events kick off at 9 a.m. sharp. Event organizers are currently seeking a local charity partner to make this festive event even more meaningful!
Adults can ‘ho ho hustle’ to the finish line decked out in festive hoodies and beanies, included with registration! Those who want to show off their holiday spirit can upgrade their registration to include a Santa or Mrs. Claus suit for maximum festive flair. Children who register for the Kids Dash will receive a long sleeved shirt, race bib and finishers medal. Holiday tunes will fill the air along the course, and all participants will be treated to cookie and candy stations at the finish line—because who says the fun stops when the race ends?
"Whether you're a seasoned runner, a leisurely walker, or a parent pushing a child in a stroller, Santa Hustle Athens promises a magical holiday experience for everyone," said Randi Schooley, Race Director of the Santa Hustle Race Series. "We invite everyone to join in the fun to kick off our very first year in Athens—whether it’s continuing a cherished tradition or starting a new one with family and friends. It’s a holiday memory in the making!"
The Santa Hustle is also happening in ten other cities across the U.S. and was originally founded in Chicago, Illinois where its very first event took place in 2008. A virtual race is also available throughout the month of December.

Awards and customized Santa Hustle medals will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category after the race.
