Injured armed robbery victim collapses outside Athens Waffle House

An employee at the Barnett Shoals Road Waffle House called 911 at 5:20 a.m. Sunday and reported that a homeless man had showed up outside the restaurant and and collapsed.

Jack Pearson, 31, was said to be bleeding from a wound to his arm described as a “large hole.”

Police arrived to find one of the employees applying pressure to the injury.

Pearson told police that another homeless person who goes by Steve or Stevie had attacked him and stole camping supplies and electronic valued at about $9,000.

He was treated at the scene by EMTs and then transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
